I am sorry I have been MIA from commenting on your blogs. InshaAllah I am taking a short break from posting on ILOVEHISHMA (three days tops) to read all your delightful blogs, because there are some of you I miss very much, others whose thoughts keep my iman high, and some who are just as plain crazy as me who I adore. as salaam wa alay kum pixie..i am responding to an old blog of yours,arabesque abayas in which you were attacked by sheikha. Firstly I am shocked and saddened by some of the things she said to you. In response to her comments,she said that you are a wannabe since you want to dress as they do.The absurdity of that remark is remarkable! Since when do we attack fellow muslim sisters for dressing according to the principles of Islam may I ask? I was watching a documentary on National Geographic that was about Dubai and I was stunned at the words that came out of the mouths of the citizens of Dubai. One girl when asked why she chose to dress with abaya,she responded by saying it is part of Dubai Culture,another young man was asked why does he wear the white robe with a short beard and he responded by saying the beard was inspired by brad pitt! There was not one moment or sentence in which Islam or the sunnah of our beloved prophet (saw) was mentioned as to why muslims dress as they do.As far as I can see your reasoning as to why you dress as you do pixie has only been based on islamic principles and I applaud you for that since it seems that despite the arrogance shown by the lady who wrote to you attacking you for dressing as you do,accusing you of copying arab style,from what I can see they do not even understand why they dress as they do. On this doc I was saddened to see women dressed in abaya and hijab at the horse races cheering on the immoralty. Her attack on you was uncalled for and baseless. Sorry for commenting only now on this,i just read it :) raz.

Sometimes it's hard to go around commenting on others ANDdo your own. That has definitely been the case, now that I try to read 300 links every couple days of everyone's. You deserve a break sweetie and I love you! And if I miss yours and Jamilah's Revert Muslimah, my iman gets lower too!
