My Take on the Marie Claire Look

This is a look known and loved and blogged about half a dozen times. Plain black abaya, black shayla, and punchy accessory (in this case a yellow handbag).
This is how a designed an old set for BM. Only in IRL, I like looser cut abayas (like overheads or butterflies) so this is how I wear it, with a sleeved butterfly abaya from http://www.sunnahstyle.com/product_info.php?pName=ruched-satin-sleeved-butterfly-abaya&cName=abayas-butterfly for $49.99 USD. I trust Sunnah Style. They are accurate, have good quality for their prices, and deliver ASAP. I have never been unhappy with anything I've got from them.

Thanks for recommending sunnah style. Its always hard to know if a place online is reputable unless others have recommended it first.

I love ur abaya. I would like to see it closer but I cant open the link or your picture. But it does look awfully nice (and the bag too). I have been hunting for a yellow bag for a long while now. I settled for cherry red (I know...a total opposite but I get compliments from total strangers who want to know where i got it).

I.ve been thinking about buying that butterfly abaya from sunnah style and now that you have given a good feedback on it I don't think i'll wait any longer =)

But one question how do you do your hair inside the shayla to make it look like that so that the shyla stays?

Amina: that sounds pretty. The look can do with any bag in a bright hue.

Ange: Boxie does too. DesertStore has good black abayas too.

Zarine: Wa alaykom e salaam ramatullah wa barakto. First off, y hair is in a mid-high ponytail and folded into a bun. Then I am wearing a hijab cap so my hair doesn't come loose. Then I am wearing one light black tied behind my head with one end pinned to give my neck coverage. Then I am wearing a second shayla of the same fabric folded and draped in the Qatari style http://ilovehishmatheblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-wear-hijab-video-loose-qatari.html. I use three stick pins here to secure it against wind. If you own a plain black alamirah you can skip the first shayla but as I don't that's what I do.

Habibti: The abaya is Saudi crepe. The hijab is something lighter from KSA. SUnnah Style sells shaylas in the same fabric but mine are from KSA and way longer.

The REVERTS SECRET: Yay! Happy closet hunting. I can never find anything in my closet.
