For Hayah love from Pixie

To the sister who just left me this comment: "I really love Sunnah Style, I really do. But if they came down like $15.00 on their abaya price I think their volume of sales would quadruple. I am sure they sell a lot already but their sales would quadruple. Also if they did not charge so much extra for shipping when you order something like a niqab or hijab they would get more sales too.I used to have like 10 of their abayaat at one point in time, in fact I have a testimonial on their website.Unfortunately I got divorced (islamically but am still married legally unfortunately) and due to my lack of finances I had to sell all my abayaat off. So now I just wear the plain one and it is pretty beaten up. It has holes in the hem, the arms are about to come off at the seams, wearing the same abaya almost daily for like a year and a half has kinda made people start talking about me and gossiping about me but whatever. I do wash it in the sink several times a week. But no one cares.I just wish their prices were lower. It would be nice to get a couple abayaat, a khimar and maybe a veil for $100.But with Sunnah Style it would be like $250. Maybe more cuz I am bigger and taller and those extra $5, $6, $3 for alterations add up :(And their stuff is soooo goooood. I looove their stuff."

Send me your measurements, pics of what you like, and your address, I will not post, and I will try to get for you. Abayas where I am from cost less, and I am friends with some tailors.

InshaAllah we'll try to get you a Ramadaan gift that will get you through another year or too, time to save for sunnah style;)

I recently went through a rough financial time and so many people helped me and my family out mashaAllah, in fact where I am living now, everything was a gift, from my bed to my clothing and toilet plunger lol. So please, let me return the favour if I can;) now that I am back on my feet. Abaya and niqab and khimar ;) I can do.

Paying it forward has always been a Muslim thing;)

I wonder with Sunna Style, do you get what you pay for? Are the items of superior quality that last much longer, fit really nice, and drape well? I've ordered hijabs and abaya/jilbab/kaftan from a variety of websites and the quality really does vary.

Wow, someone gifted you a toilet plunger. That is someone that knows how it is in real life hehehe!

Salam from Malaysia. I'm a silent reader most of the times.

Wouldn't it be great if there was such a thing where theres a whole database of something like a secret santa, where we can gift people whenever we like. After all, Rasulullah had said that the exchange of gifts is a form of bonding.

Many a times I would want to send something just because I know the feeling of receiving a surprise especially more so at a much needed time, but a lot of the time it is hard to get people to trust other being genuine. :)

A'salaamu alaikum sisters. I too loved sunnahstyle but couldn't afford their prices. I contacted them about a year ago, asking if they had any factory seconds. They sent me an abaya for far less than retail (maybe $30 or $40) and then started their blog for factory seconds. I've bought 3 abayaat from the factory seconds, and fixed some minor problems on them.

If the sis from the original comment is reading, please go to their website and check out their blog. Also look on eBay, there are great deals there. I was a single muslim mama for a long time unfortunately and I had to make EVERY $ count.

Also, I have an abaya that is really long and large, very beautiful, from Al Karam. If you want it please email me private; I would be happy to send it to you as a sadaqa this Ramadhan insha'allah for the pleasure of Allah wa ta'ala.

Love you all for the sake of Allah,

Sr. Jeanna Umm Aaminah

Alhamdullilah I've always been taken care of, but after my mom's divorce I've seen how the women tend to get the short end of the stick- or in my mother's case and this woman's that ONE abaya and that ONE scarf you have to wear over and over again.

Assalamu alaykum,

advertising in public an act of charity that you are about to do is unislamic. The believer must hide his charity and do his best not to let anyone know about it to avoid falling into Riya'a (i.e. showing up one's good deeds to others and doing the good deeds for other than Allah's Sake). The prophet (PBUH) said: 'Seven (types of) people will be covered with Allah's shade on a day when there is no shade but His Shade, (from among them) a man who gives a charity hiding it, that (even) his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent'. Saying that your left hand does not know what your right hand has spent is a form of expression that indicates how careful you should be when giving a charity not letting anyone notice what you're doing. It would even be better to hide your identity from the one who is receiving the charity, when possible, so as to protect the receiver's dignity and save him from feeling shameful or humiliated.

had to mention it.. just see so many do-gooder muslims that seem to have to tell the world about their act of charity ...

Umm Aaminah: I will leave the sizing on your blog and if it works, drop me a comment. Jazzakallah kheir sis. And good advice;)

thenewgirL: Not really, lol, sisters did the same for me. Aalia from Chasing Jannah gave me an abaya, mashaAllah, when i had none, and sisters here in Oman keep gifting me fancy schmancy designer ones. I am sure they'll help me find good quality ones for Sis Hayah.

Sister Stacy: wa alaykom e salaam ramatullahi wa barakto, thank you for the good intentions of your advice but um, think for a minute. My point wasn't advertising MY good deed, because actually it will be Omani sisters or friends in Canada and USA getting abayaat for sis Hayah, but I HAD to post to get her to leave me contact info since she left no email or blog ID to contact HER at.

It is true though, good deeds should not be advertised, just to let sis Hayah know, I am organizing this as I have the blog to do so through, but I am not the one responsible for what we find for her. that is other sisters [and brothers] mashaAllah.

oh mashaAllah

sister i just wanted to say thank you so much and that i was not expecting the outpouring of kindness.

inshaAllah you can prove i am the original leaver of the comment.

i left all the information earlier today, and i also just re-commented before i put this comment.

so hopefully you can track me or something. to know i am me.
What the heck is the world coming to... When a person wanna do sumthing nice for someone else they get dumped on for being "un-islamic" or "showing off". Uhhhhh okay!?!

Anyways... Remind me to not help anyone publicly lest I get reprimanded with a fatwa :/

(Sorry Pix I'm feeling kinda crappy right now -- I caught a cold.)

I agree Alia. I am IMMENSELY thankful to this sister, and since I posted as anonymous and she wanted to help I guess she had to put it publicly. And I am okay with that because how else would she have found me? (^-^)

I left a few comments and she posted the one above so alhamdolillah I think she verified me.

I'm just so thankful you have no idea. My situation is really bad right now, don't wanna get into it here but it's really bad. So every little bit helps.
