DIY Style: Arabesque El Spanole

I bought this http://www.sunnahstyle.com/product_info.php?pName=side-tying-shoulder-close-abaya&cName=abayas-shoulder-close abaya (for USD $49.99) and transformed it with a little bit of purple and black lace into an Arabesque-esque look that will completely suit my a little bit of Gspsy style. Everything in my life is very eclectic but old world (and that's the way I love it). I already made the shayla with a tier of purple and black lace ruffles, and I have to say, it is very modest and yet wholly something non-muslims are 100% unintimidated by.

As-salamu 'alaikom. :) I have the same one ... I just clipped the sleeve tassels and used them to add an inner tie, and removed the tassel ends of the tie part to be replaced with some pretty beads.

That looks sooo pretty, very romantic and feminine! I love it. I bought a couple of their plain black shaylas and added some pretty trim to the ends, it's so easy to do. I'll try to get pictures of them and post on my blog this week, inshallah. I want todo one with buttons, and I've got some plaid fabric I want to add to the end of one. I just need to buy more shaylas, but am trying to use what I have for now and not shop too much.

Ok, I posted a picture of the ones I did on my blog if you want to see. I wish I could get better pictures of them, but...I don't know how!
